nonseq, your county zoning would tell you if chickens are legal or not. I know some counties in Ohio allow livestock on less than 1 acre, some don't. Franklin doesn't.

We're legal on two leased acres east of Chehalis in Washington. And no neighbors are close enough to object, anyway. Maybe I should get another rooster...

Perfectly legal here. I live on 10 acres that used to be a large poultry farm with 3 large chicken barns. (it's just too bad the barns are gone now

If your an outlaw you might want to pick up a copy of the new Organic gardening magazine. There is a bit in there about NYC and it's chicken keeping law. You may be able to use this as fodder to get your ordinance changed.

I am completly legal as I live about 5 miles from the nearest "city." It has about 400 people in it. The nearest actual city is about 15 miles away so we can have anything we want on our property.

Legal, never checked, but we got them from a friend with a huge flock who lives near by. Hope they were legal!

Oh the joy of living in a county that just got its FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT EVER !!! Lots of land far away from neighbors, totally legal and I can even go feed my chickens in my underwear if I feel like it!!
