I now have an upgrade on chickens!

1 Leghorn (still looking for more white layers)
2 Golden comets
9 Easter Eggers
2 Welsummers
2 Golden Laced Wyandotte’s

All hens except one rooster, Nugget.

so, 16 in total

I am always curious of people's flock sizes! On average - how many chickens do you keep?

Comment down below about your number of roosters vs hens!

Comment down below on how many meat birds you cycle through in a given year!

Are you actively seeking to increase or reduce your number?

inquiring minds want to know!
I keep one roo and about 8-10 hens in one flock. I have 4 teen chickens in the grow out pen, and two sets of brooders with babies still on heat. One has 2-3week olds and the other has my 1 week olds. And I have an incubator full 😂. I’m raising the babies until we can find out what gender they are as I don’t vent sex them. The pullets will be split between me and my friend and we are each keeping a roo. The rest of the cockerels will find homes or go to freezer camp. I plan to keep about 20-30 chickens long term.

The adults are 2 Blue Australorps, a Light Brahma, a Silver-Laced Wyandotte, and a California White.

The babies are 3 each Dominique, Black Langshan, French Cuckoo Marans, and Silver-Laced Cochin.
I have always wanted a maran! However, we got 4 more welsummer chicks today, so 6 in the brooder right now. Do you know if dominiques are autosexing?
Here are the welsummers though!!!
