Poll/ How Much Should I Sell Chicks For????

I HAVE 25 BARRED ROCK CHICKS 4 SALE THEY ARE 4.00 EACH I SOLD 7 TODAY BUT IM NOT GETTING ALOT OF PEOPLE INTERESTED . I POSTED SIGNS AT THE LOCAL FEED STORES AND CRAIGLIST . ANY ADVICE ? WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE PRICE? ITS ALOT OF WORK I THINK ITS A GOOD PRICE

Thats actually really expensive. You usually sell straight run for a dollar and gaurenteed pullets for 2 dollars. Thats what you pay at feed stores. I would definatley lower the price

I sell day olds for $3.50, brahmas and faverolles, and go up .50 per week.

Yeah those are more of the fancier breeds though that arent that common. Barred rocks are just laying hens. Well, it depends the quality also. I sell mine according to what feed stores sell because then people will just buy chicks from the feed store instead of from me.

our local store sells them for $2.50 a bird, hatchery is $2.25

Barred Rocks are really common, so $4 each is really expensive. . . If you want to sell better, lower the price to $2-3.

I learned [a long time ago/i] that "price-cutters" hurt themselves as well as the competition. (I learned it the HARD WAY.)

Compete on the basis of Quality and Service. Don't compete on Price.

How do you sex a barred rock chick?? I know you cant feather sex them and there are no color markings at birth. Do you know how to vent them?!
