No, but they are as tasty as a well seared med-rare steak.

I butcher my own beef. So I know what went into it. I'll also eat a med-rare burger from a few restaurants. I won't eat a gray burger though. So if I don't trust the source- I won't eat any burgers.

If you wanna grind your own stuff and you know exactly how disinfected your equipment is, go nuts. I don't grind my own beef, and all it takes is that one special undercooked burger to make you spewin' from both ends like a garden sprinkler. I went through this last week. I have never been so sick in my life. It was a risk, I knew it, I took it, I paid the price.

Why did you put "only with Rum"?

I believe you have found one thing that I wouldn't drink with rum. I request a "not with Rum" option.

Rum and mayo sounds nastier that just mayo.

Also, MIL would pronounce it funny. Mayo-Naise. We called it something different, but I really don't care for it. The burnt meat burger barns are told not to smear that crap on my sammiches and they still do.

Mustard and horseradish is much better. With pickles.
And chips and salsa instead of those greasy potato pieces.

I make 2 kinds of chili. I make my Northie Aunt's chili which I call garden chili. I also make normal Southern chili.

Knock on wood, I've been eating med-rare burgers for 15+ plus years and my daddy for 40+ years. Neither of us have gotten sick yet.
