I have cleaned this thread of off topic and frankly rude posts.

If your post was just to complain about the thread or about how we moderate, you will be getting a note.

If you are not interested in the subject, just move on.

Concerns about the content of a thread needs to be reported, not posted in a trolling manner. That just causes a lot of band wagon jumping and serves no purpose.

thanks everyone! just wanted to say im not posting threads to get attention, just thought this would be fun and i have lots of questions! im on here all the time LOL

I just voted Plymouth Rocks. Barred Rocks are such a great all-round breed! They're excellent for big brown eggs, and a good dual-purpose breed for meat. You can also cross a Barred Rock hen with any rooster (that isn't barred or dominant white) and get sex-link chicks! And you can sex young purebred Barred Rocks by their feathering. The dark ones are females, and the lighter colored ones are males. I also think their coloring is pretty, and it's also a good "blend-in" color for predators, especially at night! They're just such a great breed! No wonder they're the breed that "Grandma used to raise."

A close second for me are the Easter Eggers. They come in so many beautiful color combinations, and I love the blue eggs and their beards and muffs!

really? i didn't know that! good to know for my BR pullet and im soon to get a roo... ill make sure it's not barred or dominant white!

I like cochins for pets and showing! There great to start with you can learn ALOT from them. But if you want eggs, go with something different !

I picked Silkies because

1. They poo less than my other chickens in their coop at night.
2. They get along with each other usually.
3. They obey my verbal commands to enter and exit their pen for grass eating.
4. They are fuzzy and soft.
5. The smallest silkie (runt) never gets picked on (my Silkies are separated from my other chickens).
6. I love their blue skin and turquoise earlobes.
7. Cuteness factor!!!!
