Poop boards?

Until I can get hubby to build a poop board, I've been using a poop mat. It's just a boot mat with sweet PDZ on the floor under the roost. Eventually I'll have a poop board and then after a good disinfecting, I'll have another boot mat.

Wow, what an excellent idea!! How high is their roosting bar and how far under is the poop board? Do they need steps/ramp? Thank you so much!!

Our board is 24" wide and 20" from the floor. The roost is about 8" off the board and 12" from the wall. We did replace the ladder (was a repurposed roost) with a ramp.

My setup is 35” from floor and 39 inches to top of board with 3” for Sweet PDZ.

The total poop board is 40 inches wide and it is difficult for my 13-year-old son to scoop the corner. I am 5’7” and am JUST able to reach. The roosts are 10 inches off poop board and 14 inches from wall with 12 inches in between the 2 roosts (this will change though because I plan to turn 2x4 with 4” side up instead).

Sorry for the mess! My son needs to get scooping!

I also use the mesh basket to sift the droppings out (aart recommended it and I listen to everything she says). It works better than one can imagine, removes virtually everything while leaving any loose PDZ behind. My sister also uses it to zen out as she smooths the PDZ after sifting - like a glass lake with a gentle breeze to provide the smallest ripple.
