Poop Tray

I'm new to the chicken game. Curious as to how often I need to clean my coop (6 chicks- 2 are 2 months old, 4 are a couple weeks old) 3 nesting boxes. Also, should Iine my poop tray with something (shavings, sand etc) for easy cleaning?

a lot of people use sweet PDZ. It is a whitish granular mineral (zeolite) often used for freshening horse stalls. Kind of looks like sand, absorbs odors, and you can use a cat litter scoop to remove the poop, leaving a clean tray of PDZ...

This seems like such an easy solution, rather than scraping the tray! Thank you!

I use a mesh organizer basket,
catches more of the poops than a kitty litter scoop or even a reptile scoop.

Love the look of the inside of your coop. I'm hoping someday to get a bigger one. Hopefully I can get hubby to build one, they are so darn expensive to buy!
