Poor trains

At what age should a male have a full train? Are there any foods that help/hurt them growing a full train? I have a 2 year old cock that has no eyes at all. His hatchmates have many eyes but not a full train.

How soon the train comes in depends on how early in the season a bird initially hatched. A 2 year old born early in spring might have some eyes whereas it's brother or sister born later in that same summer might not get any until age three. At 3 they will have an appreciable train but it doesn't get full sized until age 5 or so depending on genes.
