Hi! Our new coop was built with a slode-up pop door. It makes me nervous - when it drops it bangs down like a guilliotine and I am afraid it might harm a chicken if it ever slipped out of my hand when I pull it up. Is there something I could attach so it will not just fall shut? Thanks!

Replace the door with a lighter material or shorten the distance it falls if possible.
Chickens can fit through a 9x12" door. No problem.

    It latches up, right?

Thank You! I don't want to change the door itself, plus it needs to be solid to be predictor safe, but rather was looking for some extra hardware that would brake a fall, something like a pulley or counterweight maybe?

Yes, It does have a hook and eye latch to keep it open, I am just a bit nervous about it ever slipping out of my hand when I open or close it.
