Ouch! Maybe that's why so many of the others look like pullets ... the law of 50/50 averages needs to catch up!I got Mille fleur in the same batch and have three cockerels there...
The whole reason I got them is because I needed a single cockerel in porcelain... like I said I should have just gotten your pairOuch! Maybe that's why so many of the others look like pullets ... the law of 50/50 averages needs to catch up!
Hi Again - Curiosity's gotten the better of me! Did you end up with a cockerel? I know the d'Uccles can be a bit slow maturing ... I think the beards hide any early wattle development. If you genuinely did end up with all pullets (any other time, that's what we want, but never get, right?,) I still have my young rooster, Fella. If you don't need a mature hen (she's a year old) he can go solo. I can put Featherfoot in with my other bantams. The whole reason I got them is because I needed a single cockerel in porcelain... like I said I should have just gotten your pair
Now I have 8 pullets... no cockerel....
and way more pairs in the Mille fleur than I wanted
Believe it or not I still don’t think so...Hi Again - Curiosity's gotten the better of me! Did you end up with a cockerel? I know the d'Uccles can be a bit slow maturing ... If you need a home for the Milles Fleurs, the Cecil County School of Technology has a fledgling bantam flock. They might be interested in a few more. They took my extra Sebrights, last year, and one of my Nankin bantam roosters has the run of the classroom whenever the kids are indoors. It's a pretty cool program.
Yes! I still have this pair, and two breeding pairs of Nankin Bantams - a critically endangered breed. You can check them out on the Priority Conservation list on www.livestockconservancy.org. It's almost scary to see what we're in danger of losing!Hello! Are these still for sale? Im a bit North of Baltimore.
We have a small 4H flock that is doing well at the County Fair, so far. Although we'd like to expand, we don't have the space or resources, so we have some nice birds available from time to time. If you're ever traveling I-95, we're not too far off the beaten path, so maybe ... who knows? Maybe you'll have to pack along a travel kennel on your next trip to Disney!Wish I was closer as well!
