Porcelain Silkies

I have a pen full of porcelains, they do pop Isabel once a great while, the rest of them are all porcelains. I kept Isabel separated because of their desire color & type. When I cross them back with lavender, I get porcelain again mainly because they carried the genes. My pen of Isabels does produce porcelain even with Isabel roos over Isabel hens. That's just my pen of Isabel due to the crossing which they came from.

New to this thread, and it looks as though there was quite a break in it - but hopefully folks still monitor it. What visible difference would one look for to determine a porcelain from an isobel?l

I have what I believe to be a porcelain rooster based on what the breeder has described him as. I currently have him with a laying lavender hen. (Waiting for the lavender roo to grow up) as well as a black hen (who I believe is also too young to be laying too.) The lavender hen was in a lavender pen before I got her just a week and a half ago. We've gotten three (so far developing) eggs out of her that I would expect to be lavender. If we hatch any of her near future eggs - what color might I be looking at - with the porcelain/lavender mix?

Thanks for any thoughts on this!

I acquired this little girl is she porcelain?

I have a little porcelain pullet, Pearl. I have the worst time trying to get a good picture of this bird. lol She's not much for posing... Her poses usually are butt towards the camera, or butt in the air because she's eating. lol This is the best I've been able to catch so far....and she turned her head away!

Not quite sure what happened to her wings, they've slipped a little.. She had very nice, tight wings not too long ago. Hopefully they'll go back up to where they were.

Jealous! I'm looking for the best genetics I can afford for making my own Isobel and it's not easy to find eggs, chicks, juvies, or adults. I've read this entire thread trying to learn the language of this color. Whew! So it seems like the true definition of porcelain will never be accepted because it is not purebred. Sometimes we say porcelain and its like a slang for Isobel where true Isobel is a one color all over of straw or buff/lavender. Isabel is mixed coloring of a genetically pure silkie where porcelain is mille fleur mixed somewhere but is still the same color (basically) as Isabel. I live in Kentucky; can anyone sell me some eggs from their stock? I know good stock is a high price. I also know the colors to mix...sounds like for a great breeding program, I need lots of self blues, splashes, blacks, and buffs. This is so thrilling and challenging! :)
