What have been peoples experiance with Porters Hatchery ? Good or bad , I'm considering ordering for next year and need some feed back

My personal experience is that Kevin is great to work with, and I love the turkeys that I got from him. The only down side is that my poults wre in the mail to long and there were losses (out of 15 turkeys I ended up with 9). I was a bit disappointed that they weren't day olds, some were a few weeks old. That could have made a difference in how many losses I had (day olds have the reserves from the yolk they just absorbed so a few days without food and water isn't as hard on them). Still, I would recommend him as a seller and ordered more poults for next year. This time I paid extra for express to see if that helps.

I have ordered from Porter's several times. The poults have been healthy beautiful poults and I have lovely adults. I had some dead poults in this year's order but all orders in the past all have arrived alive. I have already placed an order for next year.

Kevin is great to work with and his birds are fabulous. I live in a small out of the way area and my poults were in shipping for 4 days. Lost 75% which was heartbreaking. He replaced them for us (although we had to order additional birds to reach the 15 minimum order). For the second shipment we got the express shipping and only lost 2 (but he had put 2 extra in the box). The birds are stunning; his Narragansetts and Sweetgrass birds are my favorites. We still have 4 birds from that first order as our breeders and they are sweet, wonderful birds!

i ordered poults from Kevin earlier this year.. 0 losses when they arrived but lost 2 a few days later (which he covered by adding extras).. they have the best personalities of all the turkeys we have including the ones I hatched out myself.. already ordered my poults for next spring and can't wait to see the different varieties I ordered this time!

even my husband has noticed a difference in their personalities.. he loves the poults I got from Kevin.. but he's not as impressed with our other turkeys (he said the others aren't HIS tribbles)!
