This time of year it's common for molting, which will decrease egg production.
Just for fun, put a few golf balls/ceramic or wooden eggs in the nest boxes.
If it is a snake, it will only go down its throat so far. And then you find your dead snake.
Don't get me wrong, I like snakes, they eat mice and rats and all the other nasties, BUT they eat chicks, and eggs.
I consider them a predator. JMO
