Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

hahaha, i have small lap top and what you seen and what i saw , two different things. no green and speckled. time for granny start wearing her specks. maybe just clean my screen.

Today my mother took it upon herself to surprise me with some quail hatching eggs. I have recently lost a few chicks, which my little brother didn't take too well. She thought it might cheer him up. Anyway... I do not have much experience with quail eggs, but it is my understanding that they come in a few different colors. However, I'm pretty suspicious of these eggs... they're speckled, but only lightly. Plus, they're huge for what I expected from quail eggs!

Here they are in a large egg carton, next to a pretty decent sized egg (not quite large) from one of my ladies. There were two types of eggs on the palette my mom gave me...

Sorry for such a delay, guys! No, no more babies today, unfortunately. The little pullet that was keeping the chick company has poultry lice! It was a short-lived friendship. The little one will have to be a bit lonesome until his mystery friends hatch.

I felt bad for the little one (whom I call Pip), so I helped my little brother make this cute little hut for her to sleep in. It's an empty sour cream container with a hole cut in it. I filled it with cotton and newspaper, and Pip just loves it! She slept in it the whole night, so I think she likes it.

aww, sounds sweet. the chick not walking on newspaper is it? sometimes it can cause spraddle legs

Don't worry! Her brooder is filled with a mixture of straw and sawdust.
