that means they will hatch sooner then the others. wow!! how exciting. how many and did you get them from the same place? different kind of quail? i dont know how you are going to turn something so little. my thumb would go right through. lol
I was pretty nervous about taking them out of their foam cups when I opened their box, lol. Turns out they're just as thick as chicken eggs, and I quickly got used to handling them. I got them from that barn of angels website I showed you. I payed for 12, and she gave me three extras in case of damages during shipping. They're all button quail, but they come in sooo many colors! I can't wait for little babies!
I candled the morpington eggs, and unfortunately they all had blood rings. Looks like the freeze was too much for them. I'll have to try again some other time.
geez, i wish i could work this camera, i think thats how mine are too but not sure. i am glad you got your mini-eggs, i do hope they didnt get cold too.
I took a few pictures! I know it's not the best quality, all I have is my phone's camera.
It's hard to tell in the picture, but this is the bluest one. It also has very light speckles. (Look how tiny!!)
There are a lot of shade of brown. Some are goldish, others are muddy. This is my favorite of the browns. It's a custard sort of color, and has the darkest speckles.
I thought you guys might want to see my incubator! It's old for a bator, and could use a power wash, but it gets the job done.
Another pretty one. This one is very minty!
Here they all are! I payed for 12, and got 16 total. Luckily, none of them were damaged in transit, so I have 4 more than intended that have a chance of hatching.
This one is by far my favorite! It's sooo purple! It's not a greyish color, it's just purple. I didn't think eggs could be so purple.
oh cheyen !! they are beautiful !! i have never seen such. lucky, lucky girl. i so want some now. your bator is like mine except you have a built in temp. the colors are like wild birds.
IHave japanese quail, slightly bigger, but really lovely little birds. A good solid handful when I pick them up. They take 17 days to hatch, I feed them gamebird/turket crumble whizzed up with bone meal. Super high protien.
Brilliant wee birds and the eggs are really pretty. Im finding them easy to keep. Youd love them granny. I cant imagine how teeny button quail will be!
Im in New Zealand, summer .
They love watermelon!
new zealand, another place i am not familiar with. i really need to take a geography class. how can something fascinate and know nothing about it. i will make a map of everyone i know ,names and places then find them on the map.should be interesting. oh ya, thats where keepmumsane is from.ect.... i think i would like the quail but still just not sure what to do with them.
