Since this is beginning to look promising, I have a few questions about housing.

I read that chukars have to be elevated. Is this true, and why can't they be kept on the ground like chickens?
Can I keep them with bantams? I have a bantam cochin rooster that's been dethroned by marans roo. I don't want to get rid of him, so can I keep the chukars with him? I have some orpington eggs in the bator as well. Will the chukars be safe with the bigger chicks? ...Or vice versa? I heard chuckars can be pretty agressive.
