holy cow!! thats a lot of bird, wonder if they are gentel enough to go with bantams? now i want one! you get me in trouble!!!!They are pretty big, but they don't make them as big as they used to. They were really popular production birds back when growth hormones weren't around, because they got so much bigger at slaughtering age than other birds. I've heard of some birds weighing up to 18lbs.![]()
They're great for meat, and they lay pretty frequently. Plus, they're such sweeties! Even the roosters are tame enough to be handled by small children.

thats awesome!! is it just black or white? and how would i know im getting a really big one or is there a way to tell hen? ooo, im excited nowI keep mine with my bantams and silkies, and they do just fine. I think the only thing you have to worry about with giants is keeping young chicks around them. I never let my giants go broody, because they always squish their chicks.![]()
