i do cull my chickens when i need to. deformed or whatever but i just cant bring myself to do it when there is nothing wrong with them. maybe i should box them up and sneak into someones farm and dump them like people around here seem fond of doing with their cats and dogs.(sigh).

Remember, I have about five or six roos. I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping a bunch of roos as long as they get along.

I have my 4 spare roos living at el Rancho of the guinea pig gang..Seems to work, im rubbish at disposal.
We have a memorial garden about 5 miles up the main road (rural) and theres always at least 4 rooster hanging out that people have dumped. In fact theres a warren of wild rabbits there too and I just about drove off the road one day when I saw a rooster and a rabbit waiting to cross...
FYI...laughter isnt the best medicine at 100kph!

hahaha lol i would think not! keepmumsane i have way more then 5 and they are fighting. no blood that i can see but its David and Goliath. i have 7 new ones, babies just in the pole barn. im not sure how many in the coop but a lot.they are, in my opinion, the beauties of the chicken world. the one getting beat up or fighting i should say is a mixed polish and i thought he was starting it being the biggest in there and just getting his wings, so to speak but it is my little mille fleur that is starting it. he is the oldest and has always been head honcho. i also found my male guinea ( different coop) bleeding again from the same site. his wing. bet i have a least 20.

i have way too many chickens and roos, i am still working on the coop to enlarge it. my fridge is full of eggs we will never eat and it seems all my hens are laying now. i want to hatch some more so bad i cant stand it. i keep telling myself there is no way i can handle any more as i keep squirreling the extras away in my closet. in 3 days there are 40 eggs in there. I need help !!!

cheyen, let me know if you get your eggs started friday. i have decided to incubate mine as well and we can start them at the same time. a race between chickens and whatever your hatching??? what are you hatching?? does quail take less time? im not going back and reading this whole post to find out. lol i miss starkasm
