Yes it's a pee pad lol. Works great! That pic was taken when I first got them. I also have rubber netting over it for traction. Duckies are messy (not me

My "Peg" is getting better. Still have to wear brace but I walk pretty good. I can't stoop...well I can, but I can't get back up....I've done it a couple times not thinking!!

Hope your mom feels better soon. It's okay to complain... I do it all the time (just ask the hubby)!

I'll get pics of them tonight. I've lost two, so ther's 8 left. A nice little start for a flock.

Sorry about the two :(
But yes 8 is good. I have 7 atm. Had 8 before sis stole one. After the duckies are a bit older I'm going to hatch more chukars for me, my mom and a couple sisters. Then the hatch fever begins!!! shhh don't tell!

Can I keep them all together, regardless of gender? Or will I have to get rid of any extra boys?

Definitely keep them together. Mine have a little bickering sometimes... like one will peck another on the head to make it move off one of the shelves etc. No fights like roosters etc at all! Remember in the wild they live in colonies and are used to hanging together. Mine get along great!

I just walked over to them and 4 jumped up on the top shelf. I believe 3 of those are boys.....
Also keep in mind that they are more like guineas than chickens. They don't do the grab the female and ...make babies.. like roosters. Like guineas they wait til she says okay. And it's rare to see them do anything at all. They're very private about it.

besides , im not that old. lol since mom got hospice i go to bed when she does. and i lay there and watch cartoons. hahaha second childhood. king of the hill puts me right to sleep
