Possible gut obstruction

Hey there, I’m currently dealing with this in my own chicken and went to see an avian vet. Her recommendation was to mix a tiny amount of Metamucil and crushed papaya enzyme mixed with water into a syringe and feed it to her orally. Definitely massage the crop. Mine is much older, your baby is quite little…I hope you’re able to help her out!

Unfortunately she’s still full today

It looks like she may have deffecated a little. This dropping is different from the other chick’s in color and everything else. Her crop seems less filled with liquid, but still full nonetheless. I’ve given her more coconut oil and some papaya. She no longer wants to eat any harder material, so I’ve had no more luck with grit.
I take that as a sign at least that her brain is trying to address the situation. I have been massaging the crop quite a bit too. Really hope things work out.

Did you withhold food and water all night before you checked the crop this morning? Massaging a fluid filled crop can cause them to vomit and choke. I haven’t seen a crop problem in a young one before. Is she eating during the day?

I haven’t fed her feed since yesterday afternoon. I gave her grit last night as per someone’s advice, I can’t feel it in her crop anymore. It looks like she defecated once, but that’s all.

So I imagine that’s where the grit went. I’m gonna go out to get Metamucil and to show her to a vet. I live in a city though, so I don’t think any vet will be willing to help with this.
I tried giving her grit this morning but she wasn’t having it. She’s trying to find liquid though, so I think her brain is trying to address the situation.
