Possibly being too concerned about duck behaviour?

I also came to the brilliant conclusion that it's just a bigger risk and pain in the butt to put them in the garden where hawks and God only knows what else could pick them off. I don't let them roam as much even when I'm cleaning out their water buckets any more because of all the predators in the area that could come out of nowhere. Too many coyotes, hawks, falcons and I just can't risk it. The hawks & coyotes have been very active lately.

I have heard fox cries at night recently, which has worried me a bit, but not seen any on our property yet. There's dogs and cats in the houses next to me, and people always about (even at night to be honest), so I figured it was deterring them? Also the coop is near the house as well. I can't believe the things I've read on this forum about predators! Props to everyone in places like America etc

I have runners too and I love them so much. They are my passion now that I'm old and retired. I could sit out with them all day long and just watch them interact. I've got 4 babies plus 7 adults. 18 more in the incubator but most of those will be sold to a local farmer.
