I do all exams off the roost at night...they are much easier to 'catch' then!

Tried that. They wouldn't stop pecking me to the point of my hand bleeding. I didn't even have a light on.

Grab 'em with hands around wings, then 'football' hold, birds head under your arm.
All abut calm and confident...and some practice, both you and the birds will get used to it.
