ok we got it installed!! woo hoo! today is supposed to be a nice day so I will go take pictures of the set up. had a little issue with the angle of one of the 1/2 inch pipes so small repair and adjustment is needed, but other than that it works great!

now to work on a feeder that could hold enough feed for all my girls, for two days.

We built auto feeders out of an 8" sewer cap (pvc) and a 3" piece of pvc about 48" long. The pipe is just screwed to the inside of the cap. It is so tall so I can fill it from the outside of the run. I have to fill it every 4 days or so for 12 hens. So if you built a couple like this it should work for you. A baby formula can fits perfect over the top of the pipe to keep rain out and I use it to fill them too. We have easy fill feeders like this in all our pens. Even the brooder and they work great!

Great set up but how do you plan to handle the cleaning? I see the glue, I hope you are going to leave the elbows free. I know that the dust, dirt and bedding will collect in the elbows making the water dirty.
