Possum in the run. Heartbroken

Rachel I am SO truly sorry for your loss. You can’t beat yourself up please please you just can’t. You’re right your co-workers will never get it like we do @BYC. I didn’t have just emoji tears for you and your husband. My heart aches. Truly it does.
That’s one of the many many reasons I love BYC. My coworkers just know I care a lot about them. Only one of them actually raises chickens also but theyare simply there for selling eating and laying eggs. Other than general health he doesn’t have that heart for them The same way the BYC community does. My husband is trying to act tough and pretend it is not bothering him but I know him better than that. I can hear in his voice

She's right, any predator can get into any coop if it tried hard enough, it's not your fault.
Other than just for a short while I surprisingly have it felt too much guilt. Especially knowing how it happened and that it wasn’t in adequate predator proofing . But there’s always room for improvement regardless.
The cowolves I could tell mean business just by looking at them. Wonder how long those of been around

You will need to buy the special plastic insulators that are attached to the wood that "stand the wire" out away from your posts and existing metal fencing.

Do some on line pricing before spending the money locally. You will most likely save a bundle if you order from Amazon or Premier 1.
Definitely going to do some shopping around today and tomorrow. But the information you gave me will make my shopping around a lot easier. And honestly yes I probably will get a better product for a better price online

So glad I came to BYC for some emotional support. you guys have been so amazing. Exactly what I needed
A lot of people who don’t own chicken say well when you have chickens you got expect those kind of things do happen. And yes I expect on the possibility but if and when it does happen I expect to be a mess for a little while after. I’ve tried not to get so attached But I had to give up trying because I found it’s impossible for me not to get attached

Yes we’re going to spring for at least the battery one now because it is very much worth it and the expenses indent they worry problem it’s that we’ve already spent money on home repairs for our flood situation. Once that’s done I’m going to up it to the solar powered. the fence posts I have are actually four by fours because we have the Fencing over head. Would it be OK for it to be hooked to wood?
I am assuming that you are talking about the electric fencing. There are the plastic insulators that you can buy that are made to attach to wooden posts. There are so different types of electric fencing that can be used: metal wire, poly rope, poly tape etc. Amazon even carries a surprising amount of electric fencing items.

We have electric fencing for our horses and our dog run. We have two solar electric fence chargers for our horses and they work great. They aren’t cheap but do work well. The one for the dog run is electric.
