You are correct in that he's a sex link rooster. Barred boys, non barred girls from that cross.

I did kind of the opposite, a barred roo over a red hen, and got your boy's mate! The father was actually a black sex link, with some easter egger in the mix, so my girl has a beard. Not laying yet, do I don't know what color eggs.





I call her my little calico hen lol. Just love the coloring.

She looks like a mystery chick I have! Been dying to figure out the breeds! Wish I had better photo but here she is with her "siblings" (not sure how closely they are all related but they came from same person).

Oh my goodness, I've been looking for somewhere to show off the chicks my broodies hatched this summer!

These two I'm most proud of!
Beardo, female cross between Ameraucana and a Silkie mutt (who also raised them), about 15 weeks I think:



I would've guessed she was Amercauna/Golden Comet, but those feathered legs!

He's the silliest thing, and he's just starting to crow and do the rooster dance I have to figure out how to keep him!

I may have to get a buff orp roo, just so I can get some of those pretty sex link ladies! I've seen them before and just love them.
Then again, if I got buff orp hens, I could get a buff and black barred hen....not sex linked, but those are pretty, too!
