post any and all waterfowl pictures here!!! ponds, pools, aviarys, coops, runs, etc.

I just got my first ducklings today!! Two littls babies! The only thing is they seem to be alt different than taking care of chickens. Could someone give me the main things you need to have/ do with ducks/ducklings. ALSO is there anyway you can tell what gender they are when they are ducklings? Also do they start laying eggs at around the same age as chickens?

Thaknks!!
Below is Lilly and Daisy Duck (Lilly Yellow, Daisy black) :)

Sorry for the sideways pics. Not sure how they got that way....

She's beautiful!

the black thing that was on her foot is gone, but you can see where it was attached, she is still in her own cage and she is still limping, but her foot is looking better. the two geese are doing good as well, infact my geese have made a nest with 11 eggs in it, I am pretty excited to see who sits on the nest first and see some babys running around( some will even be pure breed sebbies and some American buff/sebbie cross)

Leg injuries and foot injuries take time to heal because we are always using them as you know, so hopefully with time she'll be 100% my muscovy drake has been limping for quite a while also and I have tried all kinds of different things to help him but again he is better so we'll hope for the best for him too. Exciting about your geese, can't wait to see pics of the lil goslings..

I love my new ducklings! This is the second day I have had them and tonight when I went out to check on them the little black one (Lilly) came a started nibbling gently on my lips. I know thats weird! But it made me feel like they were accepting me and they arent scared of me anymore!

That must have made you feel so good that the duckies are excepting you as their parent. I love spending time with my baby's letting them run around me, they are such characters when they are young (espically Indian runners)
