POST OFFICE LOST RESCUED BIRDS!

I hesitate to ask this, but... if the original post office where they were mailed has no official record of them... uh, the person they were 'rescued' from doesn't work in the p.o. does she, or have relatives there...?

Fingers crossed for birds to turn up soon,

Pat

Oh, this is so sad!

I feel so sorry for those birds! I hope the turn up soon!

Fed-Ex has had the contract for overnight express shipping for a long time. It's been an ongoing battle over live shipments. The goverment has ruled that since they are contracted onto the PO,they have to ship everything the PO always has.
I'm not zoned for overnight either. But have had no problems getting in or shipping out birds. They're just getting their panties in a bunch and trying to cover their tracks. It takes around 36 hours for me to recieve my birds. Hopefully they arrive tommorrow in good health. Maybe they just forgot to do an out bound scan. Fingers crossed for you and the poor birds.

Somebody had to have stolen those birds.

It's impossible to lose a big box that makes noise, an the fact that there are no scans just makes me think someone swiped them.

Call the nearest hatchery to Deb and ask how long it would take for them to ship you live chicks, and what carrier they would use. If they tell you overnight by way of USPS then you know someone at the Indy P.O. is lying to you about the zone.

I pray that these birds will arrive today to one of you lovely ladies.
I wish I could speak my mind here, I am so upset ,
you can just imagine the first words that I spoke when I read this.
I will never again ship live birds.
This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
Poor deb and Ozark I cant imagine what you are feeling right now.
PLease God, let them arrive safe and sound
HugsXX

I dont have any problems shipping birds to and from my place to other places in the US. The longest I've had were the quad of Hamburg bantams out of MI that took FIVE days to reach me and those poor birds were doing ok but took a little while for them to drink and eat and bounce back to their old self. Good thing that the lady put in so many extra apples and grapes in their boxes and only a few were left when they arrived here.

I had deliveries come in around the second and third day and they came out just fine. The ones out of the west coast and Florida, I got them within 24 hours time frame...that was QUICK! Any shipping I got in IL, they were shipped within 20 hours. Two shipped from WI came in within 23 hours.

So not everyone is able to get their birds in a timely fashion. It would be best if you can get your babies insured.

Fed Ex supposed to do the live shipments....it has been approved and they gotta do their end. No bull crapping about it either!

Well......its almost 7:30 pm......These poor babies have been without food and water....for 33 hrs. UNLESS some kind soul watered them. Here is where we are at.
Here in Indiana....I sent them out at 10:am. I have the reciept....guaranteed delivery....by 3 pm, next day. I have talked to my post mistress....the lady at Express Mail ( she is a WITCH), I talked to the people at the Columbus PO...Indianapolis....everyone blames everyone else. I have been crying all afternoon...my head is splitting...my COPD is acting up, and I am haveing to take XTRA breathing treatments. WHY??? HOW?? These poor babies trusted me to take care of them. They are scared...hungry, and thirsty. All because....well...not going to lay blame...just want them HOME SAFE. Either home...mine or Ozarks!! I have Bawled to every post office I can think of calling...at times, I had to excuse myself...to regain composure. I called the local TV station...and tomorrow...I will TRY o find the number to the POSTMASTER GENERAL. I want ANSWERS!! PLEASE, everyone......pray pray pray!!!!!!!!!!!
