Thanks Amanda,
and yes got them by the hundreds every week. How many you want!! haha

got them mostly in the standard colors, whites and duckwings, but have a good many in virtually every color out there, and some that aint out there

My phoenix is a bantam. That is her in my avatar <<
And this is her about a week ago.

This is Pip, She is a PISTOL! I love that she loves me (when I can catch her!), but she can be an aggressive little thing, and thinks she owns the coop!

Hello again everyone! Well, I hatched 13 chicks from my Phoenix flock on Thursday. And as usual, I have a new color!....lol. So to recap, I have a White rooster from Cy Hyde, a white hen from Cy, a lavender hen from Cy, a birchen hen from Aubrey, a white hen from Aubrey, and a black hen from Tonie-Marie. I keep them all together so I cannot tell which hen lays which egg. Except for the Tonie-Marie bird because she is LF. Well, as usual, I got a lot of whites, but this time I got 2 blacks and 3 chipmunk colored chicks. Any ideas on where they came from and what they are? I am thinking silver duckwing. Here are a few pics:

Thanks in advance guys/gals! I hope all is well with everyone. I also have of all things a silkie/phoenix cross who I put back in with my silkies this spring. I just hatched 3 of the coolest looking chicks from her eggs. Here is a pic of her just for fun:

She is one of the sweetest, prettiest little birds that I have ever had, and although she is smooth feathered, she has the softest feathers that I have ever felt. Here are few pics of her chicks:

Their father is my grey silkie. I am really interested to see how these turn out.

Looks like your roo is a silver duckwing under the white! Those do look silver.. Cute silkie crosses..

I got 4 Silver Phoenix last weekend. When I 1st saw pictures of the females I wasn't impressed. But the more pictures I looked at the prettier I thought they were. Now I think they're just gorgeous.
How soon can this breed be sexed? I'm not even sure how old my 4 are, they've got their shoulder feathers but no chest feathers yet so I'm guessing 2-3 wks? They're little darlings and seem to love being held.
Here's a few pictures, I'm sure you can't tell sex yet but if you could give me some idea what to look for besides combs I'd be grateful. I just love their little racing stripes and the trilling noises they make.

You should be able to tell once the breast feathers are in...

Hey guys, look what I picked up in the nest today!

My first blue phoenix egg! LOL> I know it isn't conventional, but I think this little pullet laid it and all my blacks carry the possibility.. I actually think it is cool!

But it could of been one of the blue hens too..

needless to say, everyone got pinned up to see who is laying the blue egg..
