Post Phoenix Pics Please

on your new babies
1st pic see the two silvery ones in the back, those should be just that silver duckwings, the two in the front will be bb reds. Those and the gold are pretty hard for me to tell a difference in as chicks though, but a safe bet for now.
Yes you can keep those 3 colors and all the patterns I mentioned together and all will still just come out one or another. True they will carry other genes and make other stuff down the road if you want to breed that way. But with those, say you got all bb red and bred them together, bb to bb just makes bb.
on the patterns, birchen is dominate, so say you bred it to a duckwing, you'd just get all birchens, BUT if you breed those chicks together the following year birchen to birchen, seeing how they carry duckwing, about 1/3 of the chicks would come out duckwing.

That's the good thing about duckwings and birchens (crow wing) they are easy to work with and you dont have to have a mate of all 3 color versions to breed them and continue to work with them.

The Schuberts are looking good too, you msut be feeding them good cause they are nice and healthy looking.

Good looking silver male you have too, hate to hear about his eyes, but boy he has a nice clean color to him

He has the Pure Ismer Phoenix also..As far as I know only Aubrey and Travis have them...And now a few other people...I'm glad to see there getting out there now...The Schuberts were always a crow-wing like bird...And more heavy.....They take longer for the feathers to come in on those 2 years to be exact...But nice birds when they get there... The Ismers mostly are silver and a few golds....There more gamey like to me,..TM

well of course I'm a bantam guy, but have both, it all just depends on if you want big uns or lil uns is all.
They are the same bird with the same traits. I just like small versions of stuff . Like Ian said, one plus is you can keep more in the same space, and of course they dont eat as much. But really it just all boils down to which size you prefer...

I don't think I bought any of the Ismer's this time from Aubrey, just the Scheberts. Can you or Aubrey explain what crow-wing means? I don't mind it taking longer if they stay this sweet

By the Ismers being more gamey like, do you personality wise? I have had a couple of Cubalaya's (or so I was told), but I think they are a gold duckwing game birds. They can be kind of mean to other birds. Maybe that's just the ones I got, but I keep hoping someone I know would like to take the last 2 roos I have.
