So you are saying that Ginger Phoenixes are worth more than standard colors?at $3 each, that's a steal as long as they are decent birds to work with ( no need in getting something just to feed if it wont fit your goals), and if they are blue gingers or something non standard, that generally is worth a lot more money. My eggs cost that or more...haha...
On the silkied hen, she may be phoenix type, but if she has silkied feathers, she's definitely not a phoenix by definition, just a phoenix hybred. Would make for an interesting looking bird though. If they are 3 foot and in bad pens, they should be decent lines, like Amanda said, a pic would be nice, but sounds worth $3 for sure. Like you said you can always cull and sell off the ones you dont like ones they get cleaned up and new feathers on where you can tell a little more about them.
also if it's a ginger based bird, you'll have no problem making duckwings out of them, just breed them to duckwings...
That is a good question about what their coloring is. I am going to need Amanda and your help on this one. I do believe ... don't quote me it has some kind of ginger in it?
It looks more like a splash coloring with white and ginger. Whenever I go back I will get pictures (if they are not already bought)... I am mad at myself for not getting them...
They are mostly 1 year old and have about 2 to 2 1/2 feet tails. The oldest roo has to be at least 3 feet.
And yes, I meant "hybrid" haha. She was very unique. Either her feathers were pecked at that bad, or she was a hybrid.
I would breed her to see what she produces if I did get the whole flock. But I am probably just going to get 2 hens and 10 roos. Cull them and sell them to make a profit.
OH also I am not sure if this will help.
The coloring of the tail on the ginger splash ones are blue.
Their body feathers have this somewhat silver duck wing affect to it as well.
AHH, so hard to explain. I should have whipped out my phone! Dou, you're so stupiddddd!!!!
