Post Phoenix Pics Please

What I used to do is mix seeds for about 30 birds

3cups Whole Oats
3cups Whole Barley
3cups Milo
4cups wheat
5cups BOSS (black oil sunflower seed)

When sprouting it takes about 2-3 days for the grains to sprout so I had about 3 buckets going at once. Start off grains soaked for 24hrs then rinse the grains and rinse every day until sprouted. I believe this is roughly 20% protein.

I got a few new pictures of the 3 month old BBB pullets. They have been raised on 21% game bird feed, so far I'm pleased with feather quality.

Great pictures OR4-Hmom, thanks for sharing- and thanks for everyone that's shared their feeding tips as well! I should be able to bring my phoenix chicks home tomorrow, and I'm so excited :) I'll be taking/posting pics as soon as they're settled in. The chick starter I have for them is 24% protein and I have some of that fermenting (but I'll try it on my 3 month old dixie rainbows before giving it to the phoenix). If the FF works out well, I'll probably go that route since fermenting should increase the protein by approximately 12%. Having an idea of how much protein everybody gives theirs really helps me in having different options to use for my chicks- once again, I'm SO excited!!!!!

Dont forget to once in a while give em veggies or boiled eggs. I do 1 egg per bird but some will eat more than one egg haha. Never too much egg as it is nearly 90% protein I believe(I may be wrong)

Yeah! They made it!!! I also got an extra, so I am now the proud keeper of 16 golden duckwing phoenix!!! All of them were very active and vocal when I brought them home, and they're settling in great so far. They're eating and drinking and all seem healthy :)

Oh yeah, I've read about your downsizing. Congratulations on your graduation! Have you found out if you'll be able to keep any of them at the school when you leave? If distance and space weren't an issue, I would take some off your hands :)
