Awesome Malays! Who did you get them from, and what is the color of the stag in the second picture?

They do good in the cold weather. They are large birds and put off alot of body heat. lol.

Yep when I saw that one yall are talking about, I though dun/khaki, or maybe even cream was in him. Definitely has something in there diluting him down. Pretty color either way.
The only other nice ones I have ever seen in person , the Ko Shamo's that is, were at Toni's the last time we went up. Think she said those were going to David's place. But they were perfect birds for sure.

once you get those ohiki, they may be able to help add in the MF in some of the other lines you are working on too, but I'm sure you know that. Would obviously be a big change in type, but would help with the feathering I would think.

Yes,Toni assured me that they would put multiple feathering on a longtail and not shorten the tail..

Here is my best white bantam cock - his tail grew 4 feet then last year, and saddles half that, unfortunately I was using him for breeding constantly so the tail kept breaking off. He just molted and kept a good many saddles feathers and a few tail/coverts.

Shay, keep working on that project. We need some good blacks here. I'm working on them in both sizes and I know Amanda has some blacks coming along.

Keep breeding that gold birchen boy to the blackest hens. select the cleanest males and do it again. Never use a hen with any color to her, even if it's just a feather or two. By doing that, you'll get that birchen out pretty quick. I started with a very similar male from Cy's bantams and after just 1 cross this year, look to have some fairly clean males now. Crossed some to some of Toni's large fowl hens too and got some decent colored ones that way too. Seems the biggest problem is getting a true extended black, clean male. The pullets all see to come out decent. Stay at it though, it wont take long.
