Post Phoenix Pics Please

just following up with those eggs I mentions
5 of the 6 are out now. These are from the white Hyde to a silver dw nm hen. All silver duckwing on these 5. So I'd say it's safe to say at least on the one I got that it is over silver duckwing like most are. Will add a follow up if the last one is anything different. Have about 4-6 hatching for the next 3 weeks so far from this same mating. Will add if any come out different from it too. But at this point just expecting silver dw and white if this hen carrys rec white too.

I did get silver and blue silver gingers to pop up out of silver duckwing matings last year, so I guess some of my silvers are carrying ginger in them too seeing how I had no gingers in the matings that made them... was a nice suprize as I love that color too

Were the parents of the blue silver gingers both silvers?

Here's the splash cockerel taken tonight. He was hatched around January 7th or so, making him about 2 months old. His juvenile saddles are just starting to come in over his back. His comb is going into over-drive growth mode, so I think it will eventually flop over like his dad's.

I don't think he will get darker.. He reminds me too much of my splash roo... He looks like a melanized splash red duckwing. So his hackels will probably never turn red. they would be black on a non splash bird.. So picture him black with the red where it is.. You need to go back to a blue red duckwing hen or splash red duckwing hen one more time to get the red hackles. Stunning no doubt..

I was wondering about that. I have some blue red pullets out of the first batch that I could use, they are a brilliant red and out of different hens. Curious to see how the next splash chick turns out, too.

My phoenix chicks are hatching tonight! Out of 8 eggs put in, 6 were good and out of those, one has hatched so far, it is still wet so unsure of the color. Possible parents are either the goldens or the white cockerel with silver hen.
