Thanks for the comments - I really enjoy all my poultry projects with the many breeds I raise here.
I guess I am to blame for the Red Pyle cock as my birds are mixed breedings, blends and selections made from many stock sources across the country over the past 15 years. I've been involved with raising chickens for over 45 years, but the longtails have been in my breeding programs for only the last decade and a half.
Those are all beautiful birds, I still need to get pictures of our adult birds, but this is what we woke up to this morning the first one hatched yesterday
Out of this weeks hatch we got 3 golden phoenix chicks and 2 whites from the golden pair and 1 white and two silvers from the white cockerel mated back to his silver mother. I am surprised the goldens are throwing more whites than the white mated back to his mother. Lets just hope the sons don't get the flopped comb like the white cock has. I will try to get pics when we get a nice clear day
all this chick talk made me realize I forgot to follow up on the Cy roo for Mopar
once again all were silver here this week end, had 5 from that pen this weekend
bout 100 from all the others...Lord I'm gone need more brooders again this year....
