I would coop her up, then give the medication. It is better than running around the fields like a chicken with your......nevermind.

here was my dilema..never hatch somone elses much larger exhibition australorp with blk orp...the show australorp are quite a bit bigger than hatchery birds..most all of the blk orp are very cobby..much wider than the australorp and will far surpass them in size very easy to spot right away.....but a few females for a while you scratch your head and say which is that especially if they are longer..they grow and change..the pullet below stumped me for a while but after handeling her , pretty sure shes australorp.
this is one of the cobby blk orp cockerals in day turn out..they have an entirley different look ..big lions mane , and fat heads, very deep bodies.
??? just wasnt sure for a while, now convinced shes australorp..the others are passing her in size quickly. just need more time with this one.
I usually dont hatch blk orp and aussie together but they were a gift so who could pass that up..but lesson learned for me..I was so sure it would be a snap to tell..most yes, but a few were head scratchers..I knew I wasnt going to know for sure until much later on ..I was so smugg...,thought I dont need leg bands to mark them, I will just be able to tell....for the most part yes..but wont ever pull that again..
her tail ,it has a slight turn down to feathers.. I thought , did that blue english orp have something to do with this? hes terrified of that bk orp hen so cant be..

Made a dippy egg out of the one egg Bella's mother laid me before going broody again. The yolk was such a great colour!
OK, Johnn, I'm new to the "chicken world" what exactly is she doing in the bucket?
He's treating her bumble foot, you should read the last several pages where people offer various treatments, its very interesting!
