Can someone please confirm for me if this little buff orp guy/gal is a cockerel or pullet? I'm thinking it's a guy but am a total newb to chickens, unlike most of you. He's a little over 5 weeks old.

he's also started chirping loudly. he can't crow yet but can chirp like mad. yet another sign of being a boy i think.

Hope you keep us posted on KORnelius progress developing. So fun to watch them turn into adults. Those Bama chickens are to die for.

I only have 2 blks, both only weeks old, The male is so round I think Im going to call him Ganamedes after one of Jupiters moons LOL! I was going to call the hen uropa but not too feminine I guess. Shes not quite as round. but they both lok like moons next to the australorps baby. It almost seems like they have more feathers than the australorps.

Love the pics keep them coming. Im trying to upload some new pics of them out in the run but have to get rid of some old pics, have a few too many older ones in there.

Boy there are some real nice birds in here. I have not seen any that come close in our area . I kept looking at the shows and there were some but just not near as good as these birds. The people here gravitate toward a breed like say hamburgs or RIRs that are super nice but no one working much on the orps here.

Only 3 exhibitors of LF Orpingtons. I am lucky to have some birds from one of these breeders. And hope to get some eggs at the Columbus IN show on May 1st from him as well. But, to find any quality nowadays is not easy.
Thanks AVECA for the encouraging words. Little KORnelius is moving right along. I like to keep pics to refer back to for my birds progress. I am still very new to chickens. An tend to forget how fast these little guys develope. And taking picsis the best way to compare father to son.
