Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I sure am glad I'm not the only "confused" one with these Orps.

Of my BS Orps, I have 1 I'm positive is a male and 2 I am positive are female. The other 2 have tiny pink wattles coming in which makes me think male, but their combs are still itty bitty and not red like the 1 male I'm sure of. They are 7 weeks old.

I'd post pics, but my internet service is screwed up and I haven't been able to post pics for the past month.

Edited because I forgot about the blue Orp, I was just thinking about the splash.

I sent the girls I had left from this hatch to Beth, but this one already had an obvious comb and wattles, so I assumed it was male. Beth would have killed me if I had sent her roosters

so I kept this one. Like wilds of pa says, I would think the comb and wattles would be bright red by now if it is male.

Thanks everyone!

it's day 21 and I have 29 still in the bators.

10 of them are orps.

2 more black
4 white
4 lavender

I wasn't here to candle before lockdown but before I left they all had embryos except one

Dang right, Kathy, no more roos for me for a while!!!! It's raining, so I need to wait on pics, but soon, soon. You need to see what nice kids you sent me!!!!

Cheryl, those are cuties. Good luck with the rest of the hatch.

I went to a Chicken Swap today to get rid of my final roo and managed to find him a home! Woo Hoo. But since it was a swap it isn't like I could come home empty handed!

These little ones are 4 weeks old. They were a bit traumatized by the trip so I couldn't get any really good pictures.

These came from Three B Farms who got their stock from Bama Chicken - I am so excited.

I tried to pick out the ones that were the furthest along in feathering with the smallest combs

There also was a nice gentleman there that did the "flip them on their backs and see where their legs go" old wives tail test. From a brief perusal of this thread these Blue Orpss are notoriously hard to sex correct? Anyone have any "wild guesses"?

I have decided to tentatively name them Jake and Elwood in a fit of reverse psychology.

My Bama Orps are about 5 or 6 wks old. I will get some pictures of them. Maybe we can compare. These are from yesterday. It is so muddy and wet out. I can't let them outside. Not good pictures, but here they are ...
