Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I like Buffs. Their one of the toughest varieties to have because the color seems to fade. Keep them out of the direct sunlite and they look nice enough to go to a show and enjoy the fun. I have my better one in under some pine trees and cedar trees out behind my pole barn. And another pen I have under some Oaks and Walnut trees. Hard to say with out seeing the body of the male, but the girl looks like she is very nice.

some project USA orp pullets from pen 1, mottled, partridge, jubilee, they are getting nice and broad, still much more grow time on these

He is gorgeous! I have never shown before but am interested in it. What do you think of my girl in the front? I know it isn't a very good photo of her full body but can you give me an opinion just from what you can see?

I can get a better picture of her soon if that would give me a better opinion.

I like the color and the tail on the pullet from what I can see looks very nice. Yes definitely get a full body from both front back and sides. So far looks great!!

you would have so much fun showing, and you should do well with that pullet..you learn lots and you meet great people..I wont lie to you, its a lot of work getting ready and getting ready from time they are hatched conditioning ect..selecting and prep but so rewarding..the perfect bird hasnt been hatched so dont beat yourself up over little things..they start down the line with type , you have that, then they go back and select the ones they want to handle and look over for top awards..and the judges are pretty nice about answering questions after they are finished with selections .but you cant interfere when they are on the line working..mine are out on R &R right now, started cage training and time outs..they dont get dull that way..The cockeral we have set up for show is starting to look like glass he is so shiney..the australorp rooster is a little ragged in the tail right now but over all starting to look pretty decent.I removed a lot of broken feathers from him.. and they are well into growing back in..

Nice things happening in "pen # 1" ....oh my! Great projects and it looks like the type is pretty good for juveniles. Love to see that the partridge is coming along

looks goofy but could be missing some feathers. the best way to tell it to streach the wing open, if there is a gap at the elbow with feathers curving away both ways then it is. take a photo and I'm sure we'll be able to tell

good advise, Im wondering how old he is. when the babies are shedding the feathers they look lot like that sometimes till thy come off and adult feathers come in mine did that looked terrible for a while. but as you can see in this more recent pic it has all straightened itself out now. funny how top part of wing in that pic wants tp point downward. taking pic of wing spread out would help
