Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I don't think technically their Mottleds. I read on the ShowBird site on the Mottled Cochin thread the SOP says a true Mottled has "V" or "HEART" shaped White tipped feathers. Both of these girls have some feathers that are almost all White. But, many online have called this look Mottled. Some here on BYC are even selling this look as a Mottled. I know better.

I believe the Cochin mottled took their SOP from a hard feathered bird - like the D'Uccle. Cochins are soft feathered - like orps and lorps (as I know you know

)- so it is very hard/impossible to actually obtain the V or the sharp distinction between the white/black. I believe there is/was talk on that thread of seeing if the sop or judges would take the soft feathering into consideration when judging. (not that I am saying your lorps are mottled or not - just the cochin thread caught my attention due to my involvement with the MF Cochin project

PLUS
hey I see an egg in with those lovely girls of yours.

HorseFeatherz I think what the theory on that thread is the width of these LF feathers distorts the actual "V" look. But, no where do they say a true Mottled should have the all White feathers. They look to me more like the Exchequers you see in the Leghorns. Not saying it is an Exchequer. But I think their definitely closer to that look then an SOP Mottled.

Heres my Zues, Sorry hes molting now so bad picture, seems like everybody is molting in my yard looks like a pillow fight was here last night! LOL. And beside him is Diamond my Silkie Momma she just met him and followed him around all day like she was glued to him. She Just fell in love at first sight I think, Silly girl!

This next boy I do not believe is 100% Orp. I think he has some Rock in him but, he's at least 50% and very cute and nice for a cockrel
