Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I just popped off a few pics of some of the gang. Cold here and soggy from the 3 days of 4 inches of rain.
Hope everyone's babies are doing well. Winter is breathing down soon I am afraid.
Here is my young White Orp cockerel

Little Miss Piggy is his girl. She likes to mud bathe

Very young boy who I like so far. He has the typical Demonic Dark eyes that we all want

Weird Harold is looking great. He is no Frank though. But I love his type so far. And he is one of them slow growers.

My Blue Cuckoo has one major fan. Gayle is not only a good friend but is also one of the best Orp breeders I know. I am to get her some eggs from this fella this upcoming season. Without a doubt my best Cuckoo. And he isn't from any of my Cuckoo males. He is son of my one Lav Orp cock from the legend and father of our Lavenders in the USA.

I am the only fan of my BUSTOFF. I did not hatch any of his eggs he sired this past season. BUT HE'S BACK and with a nice threesome of Dun based pullets. One is from my flock the others are distant cousins from one of the breeders I have stock from.
BUS will roll this coming year!

always love the tours..nice whites..I didnt even know you had those...love the name bustoff.

isnt it funny, I grew up around horses all my life so a big dark eye was usually a sign to us of a freindly nature and I tend to buy chickens with that feature..horses with other color eyes were sort of vapid to us , like a vapid stare that a doll has ..my freind in tenn cant stand that dark eye either...oh that just drives her nuts, she couldn t wait to get rid of the australorps she had, she thought they were possesed..

In the world of fake wrestling, IVAN BUSTOFF was a legend. He was originally Harrison Greene. His claim to fame was an appearance in a Three Stooges episode.

I'm the same way as you, Aveca. I was around horses for years and years, and I like the big dark eyes of a sweet horse. To me, lighter eyes look like a wild one. Guess that's part of the reason I like my blacks so much.

Finally got around to taking better pictures of the new birds I got at Crossroads. Still not the greatest, because although they don't act like I'm going to kill them the moment I poke my head out they still keep a cautious distance from me. On the other hand, the orp seems to be most comfortable with me approaching her.

Flamingo Chicken

Probably the best picture I have of her to date

She still needs a name. Nothing I've thought of quite seems to fit. It'll come in time I'm sure, most of the best chicken names seem to have taken me a while to think of.

Isnt it funny how that sticks with you? Every chicken I have has those eyes.

and Bill..Im kind of suprised you didnt buff and fluff up that nice white hen for show

I brought home seven beeeeautiful blacks from Daphne today. They are so massive I had to split them into 2 quarantine pens. This is an XL dog crate! And they are spring hatch!
