Black definitely looks like a cockerel and I'm thinking cockerel for the lavender as well.Lavendar and black orpingtons. Both 7 weeks old. Developing very differently, but, both cockerels?View attachment 2249053View attachment 2249058View attachment 2249060
I've been positive the black was a cockerel from about 3 weeks old. Always thought the lavendar was a pullet until this last weekBlack definitely looks like a cockerel and I'm thinking cockerel for the lavender as well.
Yeah the lavender's body type does look more female than the black one but I think it's just a slower developing cockerel based on comb size and color.I've been positive the black was a cockerel from about 3 weeks old. Always thought the lavendar was a pullet until this last week

You have two cockerelsI have six 7.5 week old Rhode Island Reds. Two have already sprouted nice combs . A friend told us these 2 were most likely cockerals. But I also have a chick with lots of white around her face and he also thinks she could be a he. Roosters are not allowed in my town and we bought sexed chicks from TSC. Any input appreciated.
