Post Pictures of Chickens that need to be Sexed Here!

Pics
Nope. It's a girl. Barred Rock girls always seem to have a fair amount of comb growth early on. Plus the pattern.
I really want to try Barred Rock next time I get chicks. Usually I hatch my own though.
Actually this year I bought two breeds I wanted, a Cuckoo Maran and a Light Sussex.... The Maran turned out to be a SLW crossed with a C Maran, and the Sussex turned out to be a Buff Orpington.
I can always do with more Orpingtons though.
Can I see a pic of the SLW-CM cross?

Sure. Here he is.
His name is Lord Ickenham haha.
Sorry for the photo quality, he never stays still. Him and his 'sibling' have Coccidiosis at the moment. Hoping the treatment will work.
Trying to find a photo that shows his feathers 👀
He loves sunbathing.

You sure he’s a cross? He looks pure.

Nope....not 100% sure.
But he has a lot of indistinct lacing and the grey tinge to his feet that Marans get.
The chap I bought him off wasn't selling SLW chicks. He was selling Maran, BO, Light Sussex and Welsummer.
But he was selling SLW hatching eggs. He maybe got them mixed up.
For some reason, I was stupid enough not to see that it was clearly not a Maran.
The breeds look nothing like eachother.
I'll see if I can find a chick photo of him.
Actually, as a chick he looked like a mix between a SLW and something else.

I apparently didn't take many good photos of him as a wee chicky. Here are the best attempts.
The wing photo isn't clear, but you can see the fuzzy lacing, not clear cut Wyandotte lacing. I mean, this is my first time owning a Wyandotte, so who knows.
Plus a bonus of the Buff Orp being a seagull.

That’s because he’s not show quality. Here are a couple hatchery quality wyandottes to compare him to-

I can’t stop psyching myself oooooout....We can’t keep him if he is a him.
I haven’t replied to many of your posts because I don’t have anything new to say. I’m completely certain that she is a pullet.
Right! So I do have a SLW.
Are they usually unfriendly? He will come and walk all over me, but if I put out my hand to pick him up he screams murder.
From my limited experience with them, they’re wary, but not overly skittish. I’ve never had a wyandotte rooster.
