post your chicken coop pictures here!

Hubby and I have five chicks and are debating whether we should build or buy our coop. Can anyone give us an idea on how much it cost to build your coops from scratch? They sell for $500 and up here in the Bay Area and it seems like you can easily spent that in materials...
This is true, but you'll probably have a much better building than what you can buy.
But it depends on what is for sale, how well it is built, whether it will be large enough in the long run.

I live in Florida on a cattle ranch and many predators!!! We have owls and hawks in the air. Racoons and Possums on the ground. My husband built this coop for my birthday. I love it!!!!! Only thing, we are thinking about adding on already LOL. My outside runs are easy. 8' sections with doors at both ends so we can make up small pens or larger ones. I made them out of 2" pvc with plastic Chicken Mesh on sides and tops, 3/4" pac for the doors. We just pull them from one place to another and the hens have all grass, bugs!, out time and sunshine they need.

top is the back, bottom is front, we have changed it around, the roos are where you see the water bowl and the nest across the back we got a tall metal one that has 3 levels with 5 nest on each, we do have 29 hens and 2 roosters

I wish this were true... We certainly aren't the greatest builders. If IKEA put out a coop we could probably do a pretty decent job, but I'm a little (okay more than a little) intimated by the thought of trying to create something from scratch. LOVE the camper!!!! I wish we had an old camper lying around!

craigs list

we just stopped at a house where we saw one and asked if they would like to give it to us, or cheap, we have had 3 given to us, it works great is insulated for this cold winter, and it has the elec in it already, we do use a light for 3 hrs in the morn and again in the evening
