post your chicken coop pictures here!

Here's my new coop :) Only predators here are snakes and I suppose there is a possibility of a fox.

The front opens out like a big gate, there are wood shavings on the floor on top of builders plastic so I can just pull the lot out and dump it in the compost every now and then. The sides have clear polycarbonate to stop rain/winter winds, but there is a vertical gap around the top. More of a gap on the side you can't see in this picture. On the sides there is also a horizontal 10cm gap between the polycarb and the floor so air can come in the bottom and out the top.

i really like that one

Thanks :) I built it for 10 (10 feet of roosts) and there is ample room when our 10 are in there. The two roosts are way too far apart for them to pick on each other across the gap. We don't really have much of a winter here so they are only in there at night or if it's really raining cats and dogs which normally only lasts half an hour.

I read something the other day that chickens like feeling enclosed in their coop. Wondering if I should have used corrugated iron instead of the clear polycarbonate on the sides and front. The polycarbonate was so we can see them more easily :)

Hens like secluded nestboxes. If you have nestboxes with 3 solid sides and darkened the clear side walls of the coop won't matter. Our coop was all solid walls so we ordered two view windows so we could see inside when the coop was locked up.

I know my coop is ugly dose any one have any ideas how to make it prittyer
Beautiful photos. The coop fits the landscape! What amazes me is that you don't have daytime ground or aerial predator issues w/ all that wooded area and open field area. Do you have a guardian flock dog?

Thanks. The nest boxes are separate and external and yes three solid sides and the opening faces into a shaded bush. The nest box roof has quite an overhang over the front too.

It has 2 grape vines
The setting is so pretty with the pond.Maybe some chicken safe flowering vines over the coop and run. Gives summer shade too.
, it's still winter here in south louisiana 42% today . But in a few months it will be all most coverd with the leaves. And the oak tree's ARe closer than it looks. Thanks

we haven't had a problem with predators (only my old neighbor with altimeter ate my last flock but he's no longer with this world ) I have 3 black lab's they keep most things out. My neighbor in the back has lamas to he keeps them lose in the day time. The only thing I worry about is 2 egals that fly over every few days, but we are close to the Mississippi River and they are all ways with fish in there claws.
