post your chicken coop pictures here!

Cracked the toilet seat at the apartment here and replaced it. Thinking of using the cracked seat to make a viewing port over the nest boxes. they're on a big sheet of 1/2 plywood and even myself at 6'4" can't look over it where the vent area is at. But a little port there would be just about right for everybody to just lift the lid to take a quick peek of everybody that's up on the roosts. That would be a lot easier than going around the coop and opening up the human door to check in on them.

I have also seen them used as a pop door.....

Thanks! I've found some I really like, now I'm struggling to find out if the websites are legit or not

Many of us have researched our coops before we built from scratch or purchased online. List the websites you're looking at and several of us have probably purchased from them and can post pics of what we bought. I realized after having a small coop for 4 chickens that they don't use the coop except for laying eggs or roosting for the night. What chickens need more than anything is a LOT of foraging space or kennel run to keep from being bored and picking on each other and toys like tree stumps, old chairs, seed treat balls, dust bath area, swing, etc (you get the idea) are necessary activities for cooped birds. My birds free-range the backyard and I still need to provide them with shelters like dog houses, lawn furniture, pop-up canopy, dust bath box, and plenty of weeds for bug patrol!

I built this coop for my 8 hens out of 2x6 cedar boards from an old pool deck I tore down. It's built off the ground with wire under their roost so most of the poop falls through. Every couple of weeks or so I rack it up and add it to the garden. Works great.
It gets very hot here, so the big door can be left open, and the screen door used. We have lots of raccoons, skunks, opossums, coyotes, etc., so the best part of the coop in the ChickenGuard automatic pop door opener. It's light actuated so it closes the door a little after sundown, and opens it a little before sunup. Love it!

There are other ways to repurpose an extra toilet seat. Bottom portion make a great frame for grandpas picture. Top portion works great as a breadboard.

Real nice Coop! put a piece of gutter along the lower edge of the roof above the nest boxes . I had one like this and when it rained or snowed it all split down on top the nest box roof...that will help keep things a little drier.
Best,
Karen
