We started out with this small coop and run that was handed down to us... (This coop is about 2-1/2'wide x4'Max long / run is maybe 8' x 4')

Then construction began on far bigger home for our girls...

The perch in coop is 31" from the floor of the coop and is 64" long. The coops itself has a floor size of 4' x 8'. At it's highest point, it is 4' tall inside and 3' at lowest. We built the coop at 2' off the ground for added run space and shade for the hens. The nest box originally was going to go all the way across the coop end but we altered it for our PVC feed tubes to fit on the corner area for easy access to refill. I have also been working on a PVC waterer system for the hens as well that will connect to and be under the coop. Two large doors for ease of access and cleanout when needed. Ground is getting covered in wood chips that I got through ChipDrop. The siding is all reclaimed fence boards. The plywood panel in the back of the coop covers the fence and we built a hinge that allows us to take the board out during the summer months when it gets super hot out. Eventually I hope to add a window between the two doors if I find one that I feel fits with the look of the coop. There are air vents all along the top of the coop above the walls (wire is going up to cover these gaps before the chickens move it).

Next up we will build the run. It will be a little over 6' tall x ~24'long x ~8'-10' wide with assorted perches built from old fallen branches from the nearby trails/park. Fully fenced in. The chickens will have access to bigger yard from time to time as well.
