Even a 1x2 would do.

Ok guys... Had a cracked egg so I'm trying to figure out if it's fertile or not... The picture isn't that great but I can clearly see the dot... Almost looks like the pictures I've been seeing but need some help... First timer and all lol

Yeah!!!!! They have only been laying for a week... And only 4 of the 9..... And they are already very fertile!!! :cd happy chicken dance lol...
At least I know the boys doing his job... Even if he's a mean little chicken nugget!!! Attacked my kid and me... I'm going to dunk his head in the water dish next time he does that lol

Thanks for the compliment!
There's another window on the back. You can see it on my update post in this thread (#5241) where this pic was from. It's painted white inside and is quite bright. We have a light installed but have not had to use it this summer. Will start turning it on in the morning shortly now that our day length is creeping below 15 hours. We live in north central Alberta and, when its -40 CELSIUS, believe me when I say you'd rather use artificial light than have a lot of windows that might cool it down in there! It's vented in the front as well as below the eaves along both sides.
Its a bit depressing talking about winter! Frost is in the morning air here already and it'll be here before we know it!
I know it. It seems like we didn't have a spring. Straight from winter to summer in deep south Louisiana 105 degrees today. It's the highest yet. In fact It hasn't been extremely hot like some years. Upper 90's instead of upper 100's.

I feel your pain in Louisiana. I'm sitting on I-10 here in Alabama and it's gotten so hot here I think one of the eggs came inside hard broiled!!!

Ugh all these beautiful coops are making me sad...I just want a nice one already! Lol mine does the job but the only roosts my girls have are outside their box (everything is inside an 8x8 dog kennel, and the girls' "apartment" is below the rabbits') so there's not a whole lot of room for them right now =/

I understand your frustration. We had a nice 8'x8' framed out ready to put the walls up when a tree came crashing down destroying everything... We only had enough whole pieces to make a 4'x5' coop with is WAY to small for our 10 birds... :hit
Now that we've finally got supplies to build a larger 8'x4' coop my husband is dragging his feet, the rain keeps us from working or, like this past weekend, one or both of us or the kids are sick with end of summer colds!!!! :rant :he :barnie
