I keep my boy with his flock. Chickens are flock oriented creatures, to keep one on their own is not very humane, in my opinion.

I actually think we Americans are weird. With our throwing away tons of wasted food, buying new stuff instead of repairing old stuff, buying $6 cups of coffee, practically worshipping Hollywood stars, etc.

Don't beat yourself up about it. They have deluxe accommodations by most standards. A little time spent on a slightly too small roost won't leave any lasting effects.

x THREE!!! Their desire to be high overrides their desire for more space. It IS their choice to all be on the one roost. Apparently unlike their "lack of choice" to go on the swing

. No harm done there either I'm sure and there are people on BYC who post that their chickens go on swings of their own volition.

Some people have the most spectacular imagination and achieve the most creative coals......love it

I *THINK* it is NOT a chicken coop but a "play house" with bird legs and feet if not simply a work of art.

So.. I may have overbuilt for 6 hens.... I should have the run all done this weekend and the nest boxes finished up.

O no! You didn't over built, you just built for expansion. Easier to built now than to add on later. But very nice set up already!

Sure, E, L and P were complimenting Mussorgsky with their version, of course. But the pic is so weird, I thought more of their take.

And I think you are right,it doesn't look like a very functional chicken coop, but is certainly a work of art!
