Keep in mind that they are all the same breed....
Can I still eat that egg? Or should I give it to my compost heap?
Absolutely fine to eat.
stupid, i know, but yes you do. You need one for anything not on wheels. AND anything over 100 sq ft requires BLUEPRINTS! And architectural and structural review and approval. Which is why i am at 96 sq ft.
And i have a final inspection when i am done. Sure they make some newby come out to inspect a coop. Lol.
Unfortunately we live WAY to close to others for electric fencing but don't think I've not contemplated that lol... I've got an old trick for coons... They can't pass up shiny objects.... My dad built a trap a 'coons' age ago for them...coons age...![]()
Anyway... I've got a nice little .22, 380 and .40 cal pistol, a few different cal shotguns and riffles ... I'm waiting for that trap to spring on anything...
Ok guys... I'm thinking of getting a 10' x 10' x6' tall kennel w/cover until the new place is built... Is 100square foot with the coop inside enough room for my depleted flock of 8 now?

no it is not common i got one last week and one this week, it has no youk in it so i will fry it mix it in with there pie next week, i had rir and sex licks which lay a nice egg. its hard to say who is laying it, we have 43 hens. i have yet to get 43 eggs in one day, i know they only lay every other day, so the books say, i have had chickens for a lot of years and got an egg a day from chickens not off days. i am going to have to go out and have talk with them."Fart eggs happen". My big Black Australorp laid a 50g egg Dec 6th. First egg (and last) since she started to moult mid September. Still waiting for her to start up again. Now 50g would be a HUGE egg for my Cubalayas but for Zorra, it was a fart egg. It is the smallest by far since she started laying 2 years ago; her average is 68g.
BLUEPRINTS and structural review for a 10x10 shed?

Um, if you can use a .22, .380 or .44, I don't think you are too close to your neighbors to use an electric fence.
Do you get the small egg frequently and (I know, hard to answer) always from the same hen? If that egg is uncommonly small for the breed of chicken, I'd say you got a dud. Eggs are still fine to use but surely she should not be in anyone's breeding plan.
Stupid question time: Is there a wire floor on these kennels and what will keep the coons from grabbing chickens by the fence? That man of yours needs to get his priorities straight. Guess his self flagellation wore off pretty fast. I rescind my prior statements in that regard, he gets no slack from me.
