Thanks Deb, I dont really know how long it will last regarding the weather but it has become very popular here as an alternative for lumber mostly with expats, but we will see.

you can hedge your bets if you paint it... any screw hole or hole drilled leaves an edge that is exposed thats where the corrosion starts... Dissimilar materials too will help corrosion along the way... but if you can exclude the air you are good to go.

Just for FYI down the road. My background is sheet metal enclosures and designs for the computer and infrastructure industry.
among a few things... LOL.

I have soo wanted to see a coop or run built with those because I Understand metal..

Guys.... One of my chicks is stuck. Part out... Rest stuck in its shell... I've upend the humidity praying for the others but idk if I should try to help this one out?!!!

you can peel back little bits from the shell... but if you see veins stop.

That was a horrid experience. 2 chicks hatched... 1 had it's head basicly shrink warped just enough that it could breath but not get lose from the top half of its shell and the other had its BUTT the same way... I'm trying to boost humidity right now with warm water, a rag wicking up water, filled all resivores to max and still can not get it over 70%....

I've done something that might cost me precious chicks but I pulled each stuck one out 1 by 1, had the bathroom steaming hot and just spent an hour tiny bit by tiny bit loosing that blasted stuck stuff... I left the bottom section a tiny bit so that I don't damage the cords on either but I pray the others are ok... As soon as 1 was free I rushed it back to the warmth of the incubator and started the second. Both chicks are exhausted. 1 is moving a bit the other but lays there and breaths free to move it's head finally.

He looks like a Rhode Island Red... Maybe a hybrid mix. Good luck.
